During Design Giftionery Taiwan 2024 (April 18 -21), the designers have showcased their new products born from the meeting of tradition and innovation, transforming the fragilities and needs of the market into the key of success.

As never before we can observe continuous change and consequently a constant necessity for adaptation, and new needs that no longer include only our personal well-being but also favour those of the community and the planet. In recent years this steady transformation has been increasingly demanding and each time spurred us to draw on our new, most hidden adaptation abilities. With globalisation at its peak, it is no longer a question of having a national market but a unique, global market where the action of each individual or company has pervasive and durable effects on the entire system. Today in 2024, we have everything and creating something new is difficult. But not impossible! At DG Taiwan we have witnessed the designers that have created a winning and appealing product design, experimenting new ways of projecting.

ACERA

TRADITION
It’s the basis of any modern design with a return of craftsmanship. Using ancient techniques and adapting them to new tastes brings us back the moral consumerism that we need. Following the original, historical Taiwanese design, the today's artisans create products that preserve the old craft techniques (mostly passed down from generation to generation) and couple them with new innovations. In this way, products have that timeless charm and modern appearance that makes them easily integrate into our everyday lives.

The designs proposed by ACERA in their pottery products reflect traditional Taiwanese graphics and above all the high quality of the materials used and the historical processing methods of the artisans.

WELLBEING
Current design focuses on human health and harmonious coexistence with the surrounding ambiance where the product should convey and create emotions. The Taiwanese designers have delved into the concept of creating multi-sensory design. Hearing, touch and smell were involved to give an Interactive Experience.

Family-run company MoziDozen has unveiled their unique collection of small lighting items. These are interactive decor objects made with natural materials where you can turn the light on/off with a breath, or with the touch of a hand, etc.

While DaqiConcept explored the importance of sound and proposed the melodies of nature in their lamps. By combining an ambient light and a Bluetooth speaker, the perfect blend of oriental aesthetics and superb sound quality has been created, helping us escape the frenetic pace of life.

The smells of the Taiwanese mountains have been integrated into the Cypress House fragrances. In the form of home diffusers or essentialο»Ώ oils for body care, they offer a perception of pleasantness and the ability to recall an olfactory experience with extreme clarity.

TaiUan Boni

SUSTAINABILITY

People in Taiwan opt for using the natural elements in the life and the designers integrated them in own creations. Joined often in the raw state, the materials bring us ever closer to nature, pushing us to the sustainable transaction towards which the world is moving. With environmental awareness becoming increasingly widespread in society, sustainable products are becoming increasingly successful; it's not about creating something that's trendy, it's about contributing to a progressive change towards the future. Designers consider the Green Issue as a fundamental aspect of their corporate mission trying to apply the solidarity-based approach in all phases of the product, to create a solid circular economy with values in Taiwan.

The TaiUan Boni stand was characterized by its nature-inspired design. The company producing low-carbon fabric products managed to convey its efforts towards the sustainable growth of the earth through its exhibition at the fair. Real tree branches were used as coat hangers for the product display, showing us how the products we use every day can be considered a part of nature.

INNOVATION

Following consumer demands, today interiors must be designed to be functional, harmonious and in step with social changes. Many new smart product proposals were presented at DG Taiwan using the latest technological breakthroughs; so as to create not only a stylish and comfort space, but an interactive environment that reflects and amplifies the desires and needs of its inhabitants.

We have noticed how many companies are discovering how the magnetic function can be used in product creation to create an innovative design. Novium created an exclusive series of pens made of aerospace aluminum that remains standing thanks to a magnetic stand.

The same concept was taken up by Qbitoy which stood out for the creation of modular toys for children. By taking advantage of the magnet enclosed in every single piece, their toys not only stimulate imagination and creativity, but also improve parent-child interaction.

LUFTQI

Bringing together the concept of wellbeing, innovation and sustainability, ο»ΏLUFTQI present a wide range of portable air purifiers. The company decided to create this product to guarantee every individual to have healthy and clean air in any place and always; Thanks to the small size of the purifier it is easily transportable. Furthermore, their products do not require changing filters as they use electrostatic properties that allow air filtration.

Thanks to the desire of Taiwanese people to discover and create the New, the unique ultra-modern design was the protagonist at this edition of DG Taiwan 2024. Focused on original design and sustainable thinking, the fair was a true Discovery for all lovers of the sector!
