Architecture with Soul: UNUM’s Metyis Masterpiece Shakes Up Corporate Design

March 6, 2026

UNUM Architecture, the visionary Portuguese design studio led by architect Miguel Ibraim da Rocha, has been named a Winner of the Best Luxury Commercial Architecture category by the prestigious Luxury Lifestyle Awards, for their exceptional work on the Metyis Technology Center in Gondomar, Portugal. This international recognition places UNUM among the global elite of architectural design firms, celebrated for their fusion of human-centered philosophy, refined aesthetics, and sustainable commercial architecture.

The Metyis Technology Center stands as a striking witness to UNUM’s belief that architecture is an active agent in shaping human behavior and elevating experience. Designed as the headquarters for Metyis - a global consulting firm, the building embodies discreet luxury, innovation-driven functionality, and a fautless integration with the surrounding natural topography.

At the heart of UNUM’s approach lies a unique methodology: creating architecture that speaks not just to function or form, but to the cultural and emotional identity of its users. Their core services include bespoke architectural design for commercial and civic spaces, sustainable and site-sensitive development, and the integration of local architectural heritage with contemporary design. Every project is an invitation to reflect on how space shapes life, particularly in high-performance environments like corporate headquarters, innovation centers, and premium real estate developments.

“We believe that buildings are more than structures - they are environments that influence how people think, feel, and interact. To have this vision recognized by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards is not only a proud moment for our team, but a validation of the philosophy we’ve championed from the beginning. We are honored to see the Metyis Technology Center stand as a symbol of architectural integrity and human inspiration.”

Miguel Ibraim da Rocha, Director and Founder of UNUM Architecture

From the carefully selected noble materials and fluid circulation pathways to the abundant use of natural light, the Metyis project reflects UNUM’s passionate commitment to timeless design and environmental responsibility. The building’s spatial organization encourages collaboration while supporting focus and well-being, aligning perfectly with Metyis’ ambition to foster creative energy and innovation.

“UNUM Architecture’s work on the Metyis Technology Center is a masterclass in how commercial architecture can both reflect and elevate a company’s culture. Their deep respect for tradition, paired with a forward-thinking design philosophy, makes them a shining example of excellence in the global architectural landscape.”

Alexander Chetchikov, President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce

This award consolidates UNUM Architecture’s position as a trusted partner for real estate developers, corporate leaders, and institutional clients seeking transformative architectural solutions. Their expertise in luxury commercial architecture, sustainable innovation, and behavior-driven design continues to set new standards for the industry.
