The best Portuguese furniture showcase

February 10, 2019

From 13 to 17 February, Exponor will host another Export Home and Interdecoração. Together they will bring together more than 180 decoration, furniture and lighting brands to present the latest news and trends.

Export Home , which celebrates its 28th event over a span of 30 years, is a showcase of the main Portuguese furniture and lighting brands, recognised worldwide for the perfect symbiosis between quality, design and function. In 23rd place in the international ranking, the Portuguese industry currently exports to more than 146 countries, in particular France (35%), Spain (24%) and the United States (7%).

The event aims to attract more than 10,000 professional visitors to the city of Porto, currently one of the most sought-after tourist destinations, among them a growing percentage of international buyers from more than 30 countries of four continents.

One of the great novelties this year is the Export Home Sustainability and Innovation Award, created in partnership with the University of Aveiro, which will distinguish the most outstanding projects and practices of the exhibiting companies in this area.

At the same time, Interdecoração – Home & Gift Showcase – the barometer of trends in the decoration sector – will be held. Being one of the first events of the year, it identifies the themes, styles, colours, textures and finishes that will mark the decoration universe throughout the year. It is divided into four main areas: Living , dedicated to interior decorating, lighting and home textiles; Giving , with items for parties, gifts, jewellery and accessories; Feeling , with suggestions of fragrances, decoration accessories, Christmas decorations and flowers; and Table & Kitchen , which includes kitchen utilities.

Exclusive to professionals, this double fair is a meeting point for architects, interior designers, decorators, agents and furniture and decoration stores. The hotel industry will also be present, showcasing home space solutions. As a platform of inspiration and contact between professionals, the event will also host workshops and provide moments for networking.

1. Olea All Suite Hotel / Greece On the eastern side of Greece’s greenest island, Zakynthos, lies Olea All Suite Hotel projected by BlocK722 architects that mixed the key aspects of Mediterranean architecture with a dash of tropical modernism. It is a contemporary, peaceful retreat; a design-led sanctuary that taps into the ever-present element of water. At the center of it all, functioning as the tranquil heart of the hotel is a 4000 sq.m man-made lake with suites and hotel facilities developing naturally around it. The calming, transforming power of water flowing freely through the veins of the Olea All Suite Hotel cannot be understated. The complete absence of boundaries between the resort's suites and the communal spaces cultivates a unique sense of freedom and mindfulness resembling the deep state of relaxation one feels when floating.
