Inhabiting with nature

March 25, 2019

This project from Brazilian office Intown, under the command of the architects Hugo Schwartz and Alexandre Gedeon presents the real contact between house and nature.

Located in the city of Areal, mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, this residence has 1,5 thousand square meters arranged in one floor, but with three different levels that informally divide the service social area and the private one. Customers would like a contemporary design with minimalist decor. The preference was for materials such as concrete, glass, stone, and steel, which in addition to a brutalist lifestyle, are easy to maintain.

Outside, the landscaping project benefits from the vegetation through plants that can be found for walking around the farm. The sprawling pool, another item on the wish list of residents, stretches out like a stingray and is supported by a shallower wet deck and a divided hot tub area with a different temperature.
