Contract District Group marks 10 Years: from PropTech Pioneer to AI-Driven Interior Design Platform
Ten years after its launch in Milan, Contract District Group enters a new phase of growth, combining interior design expertise, proprietary technology and artificial intelligence to reshape furniture distribution across contract and retail markets.
“Today, I'm pleased to celebrate not only an anniversary, but the evolution of an idea that anticipated changes in the real estate market and the scalability that technology, applied to new processes and services, can bring to us and to the furniture companies working with us.”
Lorenzo Pascucci, Founder and CEO of Contract District Group

Contract District Group (CDG) celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, marking a decade of transformation that began in 2016 with an ambitious idea: to build a PropTech platform capable of bringing interior design directly into the residential real estate offering.
Recognised over the years also by the Politecnico di Milano Observatory, the original model sought to redefine Italy’s residential property market by integrating design products and dedicated home services into new-build developments from the earliest stages of the purchasing journey. Ten years later, that concept has evolved considerably. Today, Contract District Group operates as a specialised partner for leading interior design brands, providing the organisation, services and technologies required to manage the entire process: from design and sales to installation and long-term after-sales and facility management. The scale of the transformation is reflected in the numbers. CDG now employs 88 people, around ten times the size of its original team, and has designed and delivered more than 3,200 fully furnished residential units, including fixed furnishings. Approximately 20% of these projects have already been managed through processes involving the Group’s proprietary software and technologies.

Financial results have followed the same trajectory. 2025 closed with approximately €16 million in core business revenues, up 32% compared with 2024. Growth has accelerated further in 2026, with revenues exceeding €14 million during the first eight months of the year, an increase of 56% compared with the same period in 2025. The Group expects to close the year above €20 million, with double-digit EBITDA growth and an already consolidated pipeline extending across the next 18 months.
“Milano Contract District was our starting point. Over the years, by leveraging the know-how and experience developed in the Real Estate sector, Contract District Group has evolved into a new and distinctive company within interior design distribution — an industrial platform capable of simplifying the complexity associated with the distribution of modular furniture collections.”
According to Pascucci, continuous investment in research, software development and digitalised processes has become one of the Group’s most important assets, improving and accelerating the way furniture is designed, presented, sold and managed after purchase.

- From Milan to an expanding design ecosystem
The story began in 2016 in central Milan with Milano Contract District, a 1,700 sqm showroom founded by Lorenzo Pascucci as a B2B2C platform. The concept responded to the changing real estate market by integrating established design brands, products and interior services into new residential developments from the off-plan stage.
MCD soon became a partner for major institutional real estate developers in Milan and Rome, including Generali for CityLife, BNP Paribas Real Estate, DeA Capital Real Estate and Reale Immobili.
In 2017, the company was recognised as an “Excellence” by the Development Department of Regione Lombardia, followed in 2018 by an Honourable Mention at the ADI Compasso d’Oro for its innovative business model. Over time, the company evolved under the Contract District Group umbrella, expanding its operations and presence to Rome.
- Technology & Interior Design
Today, CDG operates as an integrated system for leading Home System brands, managing furniture distribution through proprietary processes and technological platforms — from planning and sales to installation and after-sales management.
In 2026, the Group also expanded its model to the management of flagship retail locations for established furniture brands.
The tenth anniversary also marks the creation of DESOP Srl, an innovative SME within the Group dedicated to developing and testing new processes for furniture distribution. By combining expertise, technology and artificial intelligence, DESOP aims to explore new opportunities across both contract and retail.
- AI as the next step
Since 2022, CDG has been accelerating the digital transformation of its sales, purchasing and after-sales processes for an increasing number of Made in Italy design brands.
“The recent evolution of our mission towards supporting new service models and scenarios for the sale of modular furniture products strengthens our credibility and scalability within the contract sector, while simultaneously opening new perspectives in retail and, more broadly, in furniture go-to-market strategies.”
Over the past 15 months, investments have focused on a development roadmap in which Artificial Intelligence plays a central role. CDG is integrating AI into its proprietary systems and testing how data and digital workflows can simplify and automate parts of the design and sales process, creating a potentially more scalable distribution model.
This evolution is also bringing the Group closer to major design companies as it explores applications of its technologies within retail. CDG is now evaluating strategic alliances and industrial partnerships with companies interested in rethinking their distribution models and developing new international opportunities.
