Violane Project: A Harmonious Blend of Scandinavian Minimalism and Ukrainian Flair

G&G _ Magazine • December 9, 2024

Led by Victoria Karieva, Between the Walls Studio is excited to announce the completion of the Violane Project, a distinctive 100 m² apartment in Kyiv with aesthetically pleasing and highly functional spaces.

Named after the blue gemstone "Violane", the project draws inspiration from the calming and refreshing hues associated with the stone. This is reflected in various design elements, such as the oval blue artwork that serves as a focal point in the dining area, evoking a sense of calm and serenity.

The Violane apartment was designed for a family that spends a significant amount of time at home, balancing work and personal life. The clients requested a minimalist yet cozy environment with ample storage solutions to keep their home organized and clutter-free. The design team embraced this challenge by incorporating hidden storage spaces that maintain the apartment's sleek and uncluttered look.

Central to the design is the use of natural materials and a soothing color palette, which bring a sense of tranquility to the space. Key features include gradient art pieces and Scandinavian rugs that add a touch of vibrancy without overpowering the serene atmosphere. Additionally, a variety of wood tones are used throughout the apartment, from the whitewashed bar counter to the natural wood flooring and darker wood dining table, creating a harmonious yet dynamic interior.

One of the standout elements of Violane is the incorporation of both Scandinavian and Ukrainian decor. The seamless blend of these two styles not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds cultural depth and uniqueness to the apartment. The carefully curated decor, including a striking gradient artwork that mirrors the gradient rug, adds freshness and a modern touch to the living space.

"Violane Project is a testament to our ability to create contemporary interiors that are not only visually stunning but also deeply personal and functional for our clients. We are proud to deliver a space that our clients can truly call home, where every element is thoughtfully designed to enhance their daily living experience."
