Garde Hvalsøe, the Danish company renowned for its craftsmanship, high-quality kitchens, cabinetry, and bespoke interior solutions, unveils Deltag for 3daysofdesign. Deltag, which means ‘participate’ in Danish, invites observation, engagement, connection, and involvement in the experience. The exhibition is curated as a living installation in which design and hospitality merge seamlessly. Inspired by the atmosphere of boutique hotels, the intimacy of cafés, and the quiet elegance of modern restaurants, stylist and curator Pernille Vest has crafted a space that encourages visitors to take part.

The exhibition in the Garde Hvalsøe Showroom offers an immersive experience that celebrates the enduring beauty of materials, textures, and craftsmanship. It features furniture by the globally recognised furniture brand De La Espada, the acclaimed multidisciplinary architects Neri & Hu and the celebrated Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus. The selected collaborators have joined forces with Garde Hvalsøe to honour togetherness, aesthetics, and tactile beauty.

Garde Hvalsøe will also launch Koshi-do Armoire during 3dd, which is the latest addition to the Koshi-do series. This freestanding bathroom cabinet is crafted in solid cherry wood, features the distinctive Koshi-do front developed in close collaboration with OEO Studio. Its light construction of vertical wooden slats creates a subtle rhythm of light and shadow – a serene composition inspired by Japanese principles of balance, simplicity, and spatial harmony, interpreted through a Nordic lens.

The show is designed as a living, functional space where design comes to life through use—guests are invited to sit at the table, feel the surfaces, sip the tea, and listen. The viewer is more than a spectator; they become a co-creator of the atmosphere. Deltag unfolds through the viewers’ presence. The showroom transforms into a fluid space, shifting between atmospheres and functions—like a restaurant, a café, a hotel lounge, or a private home—where design is not just shown, but lived.

“Our continued collaboration with De La Espada has only deepened my respect for their extraordinary approach to furniture making. It reaffirms my belief that true craftsmanship is a universal language — one that transcends borders and generations, connecting us through a shared passion that deserves to be protected, nurtured, passed on, and celebrated. We are proud to invite guests to experience the epitome of master carpentry — a living expression of timeless skill and design.”

Søren Lundh Aagaard, Founder and CEO of Garde Hvalsøe

Respected stylist Pernille Vest has curated the space once again this year. Vest is an acclaimed interior stylist known for her minimalistic yet feminine aesthetic. “For me, Deltag is about creating quiet moments of connection. A space where light, texture, and materiality invite you to slow down, be present, and become part of the space.”

Set within the Garde Hvalsøe showroom, this Scandi-Asian experience celebrates the inherent beauty of materials, textures, and craftsmanship. The exhibition honours togetherness, aesthetics, and tactile allure. Every surface invites touch, each detail tells a story, and every moment encourages the viewer to linger.

This sense of presence and deep focus is not only the foundation of the exhibition but also the ethos of Garde Hvalsøe and De La Espada’s work. Creating objects of lasting value requires time, concentration, and a deep respect for the material. It is a process that cannot be rushed—and that is precisely why Deltag invites you to experience what might otherwise go unnoticed.

In a fast-moving world, Deltag offers a rare invitation: to slow down, engage the senses, and rediscover the value of presence. It is a quiet celebration of the human touch, of the conversations sparked around a table, the grain of wood beneath your hand, and the atmosphere that lingers long after you have left. More than an exhibition, Deltag is an experience shaped by those who take part. It is a living showcase of craftsmanship and connection—a space not only to observe, but to feel, to listen, and to belong.
