The Astor
ο»ΏThe Astor is part of an iconic set of buildings tied to the Astor family, one of the biggest names in New York City real estate history. The Astor is now being restored and upgraded for the modern buyer, while retaining the pre-war character and charm for which Manhattan’s Upper West Side is known. Thirteen residences are now officially listed for sale, marking the first time in two years that new inventory is available at the historic building.
Acclaimed New York-based design firm Pembrooke & Ives led the redesign of the interiors, and Ash Staging furnished select homes in the building. Residences have been thoroughly modernized to include features such as double-pane bay windows and three-paneled doors, as well as top-of-the-line appliances, fixtures and finishes. Eat-in kitchens feature white lacquer and stained oak cabinetry, Calacatta Gold countertops and backsplashes and an integrated suite of top-of-the-line appliances by Gaggenau, Miele and Sub-Zero. Select residences include a discreet laundry room adjacent to the kitchen, featuring additional pantry storage and a Bosch washer and dryer.
Baths are clad in various luxurious marbles, including Calacatta Gold, Tundra Grey and Nero Gold, and offer dual-sink vanities crafted from white oak and accessorized with Lefroy Brooks polished nickel fittings.
