The art of nature according to Antolini

November 25, 2021

The modern vision of contemporary luxury narrated in the projects of Vik Retreats enhances, grasps and interprets the wonders of Antolini natural stones in the company’s first hotel on the European continent, Galleria Vik Milano.

Located amidst the arcades of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a fulcrum and symbol of Milan - a sort of salon that attracts local residents, tourists and professionals from all over the world on a daily basis, Galleria Vik reflects a concept that unfolds throughout its 89 rooms, with about 100 works of art created by Italian and international talents. As a unique balance between a hotel and an art gallery, this is a dreamy setting in which the exclusive materials of Antolini – selected by the designers Alexander and Carrie Vik – define the style of dressing rooms and bathrooms, guestrooms and lounge areas.

Walls, surfaces and facings adorned with the creations of Mother Nature, discovered, brought to light and perfected by Antolini, provide a unique, varied and glamorous character to Galleria Vik.

The Verona-based brand provides an intriguing selection within the immense variety of stones made available by nature, followed by a sharp and masterful gaze, refined over the years, capable of identifying each individual slab to be inserted in a range of materials ready to go into a fabulous décor setting.

At Galleria Vik, art in all its forms welcomes guests, enveloping them in the pleasure of experiencing the power of creativity - as they discover, interpret and engage with the works on display both in the shared areas and the more intimate zones set aside for relaxation and wellness, including the bathrooms.

The areas furnished with Antolini materials come alive with an infinite play of highlights, grains, colors, forms and contrasts that are revealed in natural stone when it is skillfully crafted, installed and lighted.

The tables in the common areas have tops in Onice Luna, Nero Antico and Wasabi: strong, exclusive surfaces with a powerful decorative effect.

The bathrooms precisely capture the gaze of guests at the Vik, thanks to a surprising range of materials that offer different patterns and variations: from the pale shadings of Bianco Lasa | Covelano “Fantastico”, to the dark impact with white accents of Black Horse, the fiery earth tones of Breche Meduse, to the sea-sky colors of the bathroom clad Calcite Azul “Extra” marble.

The bathrooms fashioned with Fusion Wow Original “Dark”, “Light” and “Multicolor”, Pietra Viva, Onice Miele, Onix Mon Amour narrate the mysterious history of the earth, with veins and striated patterns that suggest ancient movements of rocky strata under the ground.

The beauty of Antolini surfaces also sets the tone of many décor complements – small tables or end tables for sofas – in the guestrooms and shared spaces, continuing on the artistic path staged by the company’s natural stones, along with the daring design formulated by Vik Retreats for Galleria Vik Milano.
