Over the years, Design Week Mexico has been distinguished for its ability to inspire, connect, and foster collaboration among designers, architects, creatives, and design enthusiasts.

GUEST COUNTRY: COLOMBIA

The 2024 edition of Design Week Mexico bursts with color and creativity as Colombia takes the spotlight as the Guest Country for 2024. This event, which celebrates design excellence in all its forms, is enriched this year by the collaboration of Fundación Gomez & Tamayo and Ensō, with the support of Sura, who will bring the essence of Colombian design to Mexico.

Known for its rich cultural and artistic diversity, Colombia will have a prominent presence in several of the most iconic programs of Design Week Mexico. In "Vision and Tradition", Colombia will collaborate with this year's guest state, Aguascalientes. This program aims to merge contemporary creativity with artisanal skills and promises to be a meeting point where the visions of both countries intertwine, creating a unique synergy that reflects the rich cultural heritage and innovation of both Colombian and Mexican design.

Furthermore, Colombian talents will shine in "Inédito", a platform that promotes new design proposals. Here, designers from Colombia will showcase their most innovative and disruptive creations, demonstrating their ability to surprise and transcend boundaries. This participation underscores Colombia's versatility and mastery in various design disciplines, from product design to contemporary crafts.

Design Week Mexico 2024 is not only a platform to showcase talent and innovation in design but also an opportunity to strengthen cultural and creative ties between Mexico and Colombia. This edition promises to be a cultural exchange where the rich artisanal tradition and avant-garde of Colombian design will meet Mexico's diversity and creativity, fostering an enriching dialogue between the two countries.

Colombia's participation as the guest country will enhance the program of Design Week Mexico 2024, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship of Colombian design, its capacity for innovation, and its impact on the international stage. It will be a space of inspiration and creativity that not only celebrates design in all its forms but also strengthens the bonds between Mexico and Colombia, leaving an indelible mark on the global design landscape.

GUEST STATE: AGUASCALIENTES

Design Week Mexico 2024 is delighted to announce Aguascalientes as the Guest State for this edition, a special distinction that highlights its cultural richness, creativity, and innovative potential in the world of design. This collaboration is made possible through the joint efforts of the Aguascalientes Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Aguascalientes Cultural Institute of the State Government of Aguascalientes.

Aguascalientes will be the focal point for the Visión y Tradición, residencies, a program that celebrates the fusion of contemporary and artisanal craftsmanship. This year, designers from Colombia, the Guest Country, will collaborate closely with artisans and designers from Aguascalientes. Together, they will explore new forms of art and design that integrate Colombia's contemporary vision with the deep-rooted artisanal traditions of Aguascalientes. This exchange promises to be a source of inspiration and creativity, where cultures intertwine in a unique synergy.

In addition to its central role in Visión y Tradición, Aguascalientes will have a significant presence in other aspects of the event. Designers and creatives from Aguascalientes will showcase their work in various installations and events throughout Design Week Mexico 2024. This participation will highlight the diversity and originality of local talent, offering a window to the world to appreciate the depth and dynamism of Aguascalientes' design scene.

The collaboration between Aguascalientes and Colombia will be a focal point at Design Week Mexico 2024, providing a unique opportunity for cultural and creative exchange. Colombian designers will have the chance to work closely with the artisans and designers of Aguascalientes, blending their innovative perspectives with local traditional techniques. This dialogue between two distinct cultures will result in projects and proposals that reflect the best of both worlds, enriching the international design landscape.

The selection of Aguascalientes as the Guest State for Design Week Mexico 2024 is a recognition of its prominent role in the design field and its ability to drive the creative industry in Mexico.
