A British family home with a disruptive design

In collaboration with Format Architects, Studio Autograph completed the project breaking the rules of British home design stereotypes in Midlands, England.
Anyone who imagines a British house tends to visualize a classic interior with neutral tones and monarchic details. Every corner needs to tell a story and each detail is carefully thought to convey a message to the next generation. The designers maitained this design heritage but added to it a modern wist.
It all started with the poetically modern building idealised by the architectural team. A curvy and artsy language was developed to meet the client requirements. In the same time, the interior design project was designed to be the perfect fusion between art, culture, comfort and functionality.
This 5 bedrooms family-house has also a TV room, a gym, a swimming pool, a spa area and a small studio for guests.

The rebuilt property includes 150 traditional guest hale, a new spa, and five restaurants and bars—two of which carry over from the original resort. Rather than a wholesale reinvention, the project reads as a continuation: a property rebuilt around what made the original site significant in the first place.
