Hometex Shenzhen 2026: China’s Leading Soft Furnishing Event shaping the Future of Interior Design Trends

March 23, 2026

From 7 to 10 March 2026, interior designers, buyers and textile professionals from around the world gathered at Hometex Shenzhen, an event that once again proved to be a dynamic platform for discovering the latest trends in interior textiles, experiencing immersive displays and building meaningful business connections. Despite the complex global economic landscape and the ongoing adjustments in China’s real estate market, the exhibition clearly demonstrated the resilience of the industry, with exhibitors and visitors showing strong interest in innovation, materials and new design directions.

Held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Hometex Shenzhen presented an extensive program ranging from innovative fabrics to sustainability initiatives, highlighting how textiles continue to shape the contemporary design landscape. Co-hosted by the Textile & Garment Chamber of Commerce, All‑China Federation of Industry & Commerce, the Guangdong Home Textile and Decoration Association and Informa Markets, and organized by Shenzhen Boao Exhibition Co., Ltd., the event once again confirmed its role as a benchmark for China’s soft furnishing industry. Spanning around 100,000 m², the exhibition hosted nearly 900 exhibitors across the entire industrial chain and welcomed close to 40,000 professional visitors, further strengthening its position as a key platform connecting China’s dynamic market with global design and sourcing opportunities.

Global Resources Converge: Networking & Opportunities
With the support of
Informa Markets and its extensive international exhibition network, Hometex Shenzhen welcomed 1,506 overseas professional visitors from across the globe. Attendees came from key Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, as well as from Europe (Russia, Western and Central Europe) and major countries in the Americas, Africa and Oceania. Buyer delegations and professional associations from Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Taiwan China made dedicated trips to engage in trade matching and industry exchanges, underlining the fair’s growing international influence.

Beyond inspiration, the exhibition proved to be a hub for professional interaction. Its thoughtfully designed layout encouraged direct engagement between exhibitors and buyers, enabling in-depth discussions on product quality, sourcing and potential collaborations. Attendees could examine fabric samples up close, inquire about production processes, and explore tailored solutions for their projects. For many companies, Hometex Shenzhen served as a crucial platform to expand market presence, meet international clients, and secure new business opportunities.

The Touch of Quality: Experiencing Textiles

One of the most prominent trends at Hometex Shenzhen was the focus on high-quality fabrics. Exhibitors presented an extensive range of materials from soft velvets and luxurious linens to textured weaves and innovative blends. What stood out this year was the emphasis on tactile experience. Visitors were encouraged to touch, feel and interact with the fabrics, understanding the subtle differences in texture, weight and structure.

“It’s incredible how a fabric’s texture can inspire the entire mood of a room and knowing it can also protect or enhance well-being adds an entirely new.”

Nancy Pu, Senior Sales Manager

Technology integration in textiles also captured significant attention. Several exhibitors showcased smart fabrics designed to protect from UV rays or enhance well-being, combining aesthetics with functionality. These innovative materials, aimed at both residential and commercial interiors, are particularly appealing for spa environments and wellness-focused spaces, including private home wellness areas. The fair highlighted that fabrics are evolving from purely decorative elements to functional companions that contribute to comfort, health, and personal care. This approach reflects a broader trend in interior design: consumers and designers are increasingly valuing the “feel” of materials as much as their visual appeal, while also seeking added functionality.

From Fabric to Space: From Fabric to Space: A Complete Soft Furnishing Ecosystem

The exhibitors of Hometex Shenzhen didn’t just present their products but also showcased how textiles can be fully integrated into the environments. Spread across seven themed halls and featuring nearly 900 exhibitors along the entire industrial chain, the exhibition offered a comprehensive overview of the sector - from curtain textiles and intelligent sun-shading systems to wall materials and high-end customised solutions. Many exhibitors created immersive areas and finished product displays, demonstrating practical applications such as upholstered furniture, wall coverings and decorative panels. For ex. some stands offered interactive setups, allowing visitors to combine fabrics, colors and textures in miniature room simulations. This hands-on approach gave people a chance to visualize how materials perform in real spaces, bridging the gap between concept and execution. By bringing together everything from material supply and design development to market-ready solutions, the fair highlighted a one-stop ecosystem that connects traditional soft furnishings with emerging smart and eco-friendly innovations.

Sustainability: Eco-Friendly and Natural Fabrics

Hometex Shenzhen 2026 showcased a variety of eco-friendly and natural materials, including organic cotton, recycled fibers and innovative sustainable blends. The trend toward environmentally responsible textiles reflects the increasing importance of ethical sourcing and ecological awareness in interior design (that is trending in the latest decades). It’s noted sustainability is no longer a niche concern but a decisive factor in purchasing clients’ decisions.

“Buyers today are looking for materials that are beautiful, durable and environmentally conscious. We have had to adapt my products to meet this demand, ensuring that every piece we produce is both elegant and responsible. It’s a challenge! But it’s also satisfying to know that our textiles can create stunning interiors while respecting the planet.”
