Tom Dixon - Keynote Speaker at interihotel BCN25

British designer Tom Dixon will be one of the keynote speakers at Interihotel BCN25, Europe’s premier event in hotel and restaurant design, taking place from October 21 to 23 at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via.


Under the theme The Power of Encounters,Tom Dixon will share his vision on how design can foster meaningful connections, transforming spaces into hubs of creativity, culture, and innovation. His participation highlights the fair’s commitment to bringing world-class design expertise to an international audience of hospitality professionals. The event, once again globally sponsored by Roca, will bring together over 12,000 professionals, feature 300 exhibiting brands, and include 180 international speakers, ranging from leading design, architecture, and interior design studios. It has firmly established itself as the must-attend meeting point for hospitality design professionals.



With a career defined by innovation, functionality, and a distinctive style, Tom Dixon has become an icon of contemporary design. His studio, specializing in furniture, lighting, and accessories, operates across London, Milan, Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo, and Shanghai. Dixon’s pieces, deeply rooted in his British heritage and celebrated for their experimental use of materials and techniques, are featured in prestigious museum collections such as the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), MoMA (New York), and Centre Pompidou (Paris).


Dixon’s session at Interihotel, scheduled for October 22, promises to be a highlight for architects, interior designers, brands, and hotel operators. Titled Sustainable Encounters, the session will also feature Mesura Studio, Space Copenhagen, and Núria Moliner (architect, communicator, and TV presenter on RTVE and TV3).

The focus will be on design that welcomes and cares, demonstrating how thoughtful material choices and business strategies can generate positive environmental and social impact, driving a more conscious and responsible hospitality industry.

And several of the strongest projects are renovations rather than new builds. Read together, the winners point toward where hospitality design is heading as the year continues. Designed for the Season Several of this year's winners speak directly to the season ahead. Kona Village , on Hawaii's Big Island, reimagines an 81-acre resort around the history of Kaupulehu, led by Greg Warner and Mike McCabe of Walker Warner. The rebuilt property includes 150 traditional guest hale, a new spa, and five restaurants and bars—two of which carry over from the original resort. Rather than a wholesale reinvention, the project reads as a continuation: a property rebuilt around what made the original site significant in the first place.
